Award-winning German watch manufacturer Nomos has impressed us once again. The Nomos Metro has received the Green Product Award for- high-quality design, technical innovation, and sustainability.

The Metro designed by Mark Braun won over judges because of its climate-friendly production, innovative technical features, and "example-setting durability." I have lauded Nomos time and time again because of their creativity, craftsmanship, and overall brand identity. Nomos produces nearly 95% of all watch calibers on-site. In particular the Metro is a cut above the rest because of its in-house escapement, a feature still not perfected by some of the most exclusive brands in the world.
Nomos is definitely doing something right and the world is taking note. The Green Product Award celebrates products that combine high-quality design with technical innovation and sustainable production processes. In a field of nearly 400 entries from 21 countries the Metro stood out above the rest. I applaud Nomos for pushing watchmaking in the right direction without forgetting that after all timepieces should be affordable and utilitarian.
